The History Of Our Band

    It all started in the summer of 2001, in the wrestling room of the field house in Jay, OK.  Two men, Ben Barnes and Josh Masters, met up to "jam-out".  Equipped with their new 15 watt amps, they blared away on the two songs that they knew, but to them this was the greatest thing in the world.  After playing for a little while they decided it was time to form a band.  Now all they needed was a drummer, a singer, and a lot of talent and luck.  The drummer would come with the start of school in August.
    Ben was already enrolled in Jazz band.  The band was missing a bass player and a drummer.  Josh and Brian, a friend in school who could drum, soon entered into Jazz band.   Naturally, most days after class Ben, Brian, and Josh stayed after and worked on some of their own stuff.  After the guys realized they were the most talented musicians in all of Delaware County, they decided that they should start practicing after school, to become even better.  After playing in many different places, including a shop building that took 20 minutes via a two-rut trail, the guys decided on the best place of all.
    Cabin practice was then formed.
The musical ability of the band was suppressed by one thing.  The fact that they had no singer.  This was posing a great problem because with no singer the songs were much more difficult to play.
    After searching, a singer was found.  Kenzy Webb made his debut appearance at the cabin.  The guys of the band felt that he sucked, but decided that since no one else would sing for them, that he would have to do.  (J/K, Kenzy is a good singer.)  
    Kenzy brought with him a friend who was at first just there to watch us practice, but soon showed that his musical ability could help the band to expand even more.  Michael Gray would soon become the rhythm guitar player in our band.
    
This now put our band at what it is today:

I am proud to make this addition to our History.....
As of May 20, 2002 we have a name for our band.  Until this point we had went by everything under the sun, but now we are DETOUR....Look for a page in the near future explaining the ideas behind the name.
We would like to thank Mr. Bowles for helping us with the name.  Don't worry, you'll get your shirt!
